Arthur Harris died from unknown causes on 7th December, 1916 while serving with the Royal Defence Corps in London.

The Royal Defence Corps was a corps of the British Army during the First World War, made up from soldiers either too old or medical unfit to serve overseas. It was engaged in activities such as guarding important installations and prisoner-of-war camps.
